There are several sweet shops in town and some of them are very old. Jalajog at Maldapatty is very popular for all types of mouth watering sweets and for Lucchi with lubbri Bvhaji at breakfast and in the evening snacks. Whether its the time of exam results or for any ceremonies Sweets are the common product to buy. Traditional sweets like Rasgulla, Kalajamm, Matichurer Laddu, Cham-cham, Sandesh, Mishti Doi(Sweet Yoghurt), Rasmalai, Rajbhog are very common in its delicacies across the sweet shops here. The taste of Bundia and Sandesh are awesome for your evening nastha at Maa Mishtanno Vhandar in Kalitala just opposite corner of the Katawali thana. Price of them are quite reasonable comparing with others. I was just talking to a local trader of Maldapatty Mr.Paramesh Saha and from his point of view Jalajog is the oldest and renowned though Shananda(special: Sana barfi, Zafranivogh,Inranivogh, Toghdoi) beside her is also very customer oriented but Pabna sweets is having the first place on yearly sales, offering special Gajar Halua, is located at Bahadur bazar beside Station Road. Misthi Mukh at Modern more is offering a couple of special sweets namely Chiniata Doi and Elishpati.
